Ian Swarbrick has spent more than three decades helping organisations develop their people and their brands. He founded the group in Manchester in 1995 as a learning and development practice, working with employers, awarding bodies and colleges to design programmes that changed how teams performed rather than simply how they were trained.

In 2010 he relocated the business to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, drawn by a region investing heavily in education, skills and infrastructure. That move reframed the work: instead of single training interventions, the group began delivering long-run capability programmes — curriculum, assessment, trainer development and measurement — for ministries, academies, operators and private employers across the GCC.

Today Ian leads both divisions personally. AIN Consulting covers learning, AI/STEM curriculum and transformation, alongside ADIP, the Academy of Digital & Integrated Print. Inkflows applies the same discipline to brand-managed print and production. Every engagement is run senior-led, with the founder involved from diagnosis through to measured outcome.

  5. 2023 – today

    Group Founder & Managing Director

Leads a two-division group: AIN Consulting for people and capability, Inkflows for brand-managed print and production — serving proptech, education, sport, culture, retail and events clients across the region.

Why XL MEA Group exists

The founding idea.

The group was founded on a simple frustration: organisations were buying training and buying print, but nobody was accountable for whether either changed anything. Courses were delivered and forgotten. Brand material was produced and never measured.

XL MEA Group was built to close that gap — to diagnose the real problem first, design the programme or production around it, deliver it with senior people in the room, and measure what actually moved. That is why the group keeps two divisions under one roof: developing people and elevating brands are the same discipline applied to different assets.

It is also why the group stays deliberately boutique. Clients work with the people who scoped the work, not a handover team — across proptech, education, sport, leisure, entertainment, culture, events and retail.
